Tips shared by Fabulous users to make meditation easier to practice!

When you first begin to meditate your mind will fight against the intense focus and try to distract you with thoughts on everything from a work deadline you need to address to what’s for dinner that night. This is normal.

Fabulous users have found that it can help to remind yourself to refocus with a simple mantra, like “focus” or “breathe.”

How to avoid distractions

Try to choose a quiet space to meditate where you won’t be bothered. Put some relaxing background music on to drown out noises from traffic or other people with whom you share your home. Get comfortable and make sure you have everything you need before you start. A cushion or a blanket will keep you cozy and comfortable during your session. If you are using a guided meditation on your phone make sure that it is charged and ready to go.

How to focus

Even very experienced yogis can find that their mind wanders from time to time, especially if you have a lot going on in your day. Let your thoughts come and go -like clouds passing across the sky or waves on the ocean. Acknowledge them and then let them go.

Bring your attention back to your breath. Fabulous users who have made meditation part of their daily routine say that persistence is the key. Just keep bringing your focus back to the sensation of your breath entering and exiting your body- it will get easier.

How often should I meditate?

Regular meditation can mean different things to different people. Many Fabulous users like to meditate right before bed. This helps to create a repetitive and easy to remember routine which also results in more restful sleep- score!

What benefits can I expect?

As well as improved sleep Fabulous users who regularly meditate report that they have more patience and less anxiety and stress. For those who complete their practice upon waking they start their days in a more positive frame of mind ready to take on their day.
